Dog Versus Duck

Dog Versus Duck

The Washington Huskies can proudly boast that they are the number one team in the PAC-12 conference. With a season record of nine wins and two losses in conference play, they are one win overall ahead of second place California. At this time, they are on a five-game winning streak, most recently beating UCLA and the University of Southern California.

This week, the Huskies face the Oregon Ducks at home in Seattle. The two teams have a longstanding rivalry, and this year it’s fueled by the fact that the game will be broadcast on ESPN.  The Huskies and Ducks have already met earlier in the season, with the Huskies being victorious in that battle. Now the Ducks will try to even the score as the two teams square off once again.

Oregon has a slightly better field goal percentage, but overall they commit more turnovers than the Huskies do. When it comes to free throws, Washington hits significantly more than Oregon does. They also perform better at offensive rebounding than the Ducks, which means that this can play a key role in the final score of the game.

While Washington has a slight advantage over Oregon, it should nonetheless be a competitive game. Oregon has a strong defense which could prevent the Huskies from making too many three pointers. Washington also commits more fouls, which could allow the Ducks the opportunity to gain an advantage at the free throw line. Check your local ESPN listing for the date and time of this contest.
